Researchers played loud music inside a cage of hungry mosquitoes. Meanwhile, other mosquitoes were kept in a silent cage. A hamster was put in each cage. The mosquitoes that were forced to listen to loud music sucked less blood than those in the silent cage. If noise makes them find it hard to focus, it could be used to help stop them from feeding on humans and therefore stop the spread of diseases.

To master this skill, the AI program "saw" and "read" thousands of example images. In the future, the app might also be able to analyze a dog's body to make its readings more accurate（准确的）.

Smile in the cat way

Many cat owners argue that it is quite difficult to please their cats. Cats have a bit of a name for coldness. Research shows that you just need to smile at them more in the cat way: by narrowing your eyes and blinking slowly. The expression is translated as a kind of cat smile. Jackson, a cat behavior expert, says there are some pretty strong feelings behind the cat slow blink. He calls it the "I love your blink".
