MORE BABY-FRIENDLY COUNTRY According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China recorded 10. 62 million births in 2021, a drop of 11. 5 percent from 12 million in 2020. China's population growth is set to turn negative (负的)by 2025, the National Health Commission said on August 1. In a major push to deal withthe problem, the government said on May 31, 2021 that all families can have up to three children. On August 16, the government brought out a guideline(指导方针). It introduced a number of supportive measures to encourage births. Housing:Families with more than one child are more possible to get public rental housing. Work:Companies may give employees time to send and pick up children from school. Education:Kindergartens should receive younger children aged 2-3. Normally they only receive children older than age 3. Baby care rooms:Public areas shall build more baby care rooms for mothers to breastfeed(母乳喂养)their babies or change diapers(尿布). |
