Life is full of surprise as long as you try your best in the face of challenges. I still remember my music teacher Ms. Smith, and her words "Be a true winner in your own heart." encourage me to improve myself in many ways.
I used to be afraid of joining in school activities. Once, our school had a welcome party for new foreign teachers. My teacher asked me to show Chinese kung fu. Though I have been learning it since nearly four years ago, I still worried about it, because it was the first time for me to stand on stage.
The party began with Peking Opera. When I stood on stage, I felt even more nervous. I worried that others would laugh at me if I couldn't do it perfectly. I thought of the music teacher's words" Be a true winner in your own heart", and I became brave. Then I started my performance. Hearing applause (掌声) from the teachers, I knew I made it .
When I finished my show, I ran towards Ms. Smith, and I gave her a big hug (拥抱) . It was Ms. Smith that made me realize how strong I could be . The valuable (宝贵的) experience did give me a great lesson. It encouraged me to keep challenging myself to be a better man.
