A—Bobby B—Mum

A: Mum, it' s raining again! I can' t go out to play with my friends. I don' t like the rain!

B: But rain is useful. People need water. Animals and plants also need water. And most of the water comes from rain. Without (没有) rain, how can plants grow? We will have nothing to eat. 

A: Oh, Mum! You like the animals and plants just because you want to eat them!

B: No. We need them. If we have no food, we can only live (生存) for about one week. But without water, we can only live for three days. Then, do you still dislike the rain? 

A: Mmm. . . But the rain makes all the streets wet. It' s difficult to walk quickly. And our shoes and trousers are always dirty on rainy days. 

B: So get up early in the morning and don' t run on your way to school. Then your shoes and trousers will not be dirty. 

A: OK. But Mum, I have nothing to do now. 

B: That' s good! You can help me with the housework. Oh, I like rain so much!
