The Space Engineering Program in China dates back to the 1970s. More and more teenagers become interested in it. Below are some great achievements during the process of China's space exploration(探索).
Time | Name | Information |
Apr. 24, 1970 | Dongfanghong 1 | It was China's first man-made space satellite (卫星). In its 20 days of working life, it sent space information to the Earth. After that, China became the fifth country to launch(发射)a satellite independently. |
Sept. 29, 2011 | Tianggong 1 | They provided a place for doing experiments in space and practicing spacecraft docking(飞行器对接)。This is an important technology for building larger space stations or sending more spacecrafts to the moon, Mars and farther places in the future. Finally, a large space station will be built to allow three astronauts to live in and to do research work for a long time. |
Sept. 15, 2016 | Tianggong 2 | |
Jan. 3, 2019 | Chang'e 4 | Chang'e 4 lunar probe(月球探测器)landed on the moon's far side (dark side) and softly touched down, which opened a new page in history of mankind's space exploration. It then sent back three photos of the landing place. That marked the world's first pictures taken on the surface of the far side. |
Jul. 23, 2020 | Tianwen 1 | It was China's first Mars program to make scientific researches about the soil(土壤),environment, atmosphere(大气),water and so on. In May 2021, two photos and two videos were taken by its probe during and after the country's first landing on the red planet. The program was named after a poem by the famous ancient poet Qu Yuan and shows the Chinese people's unending efforts to discover the truth of nature and the universe, as well as the explorations in science and technology. |
Nov. 24, 2020 | Chang'e 5 | Chang'e 5 lunar probe landed on a place on the moon that no other country had ever reached before. It was China's first return flight and successfully brought back some soil from the moon. |
