It was a cold New Year's Eve.David saw a middle-aged man sitting in front of the supermarket with a sign that said "Please help".

David used to give people like him 20 dollars, but tonight was special,so he decided to put in some time.

David stopped and said,"Come on.Put your things away and let's get you something."

They walked into the supermarket while talking. David learned that the man had a place to live, but no money for food.

Anyway,David still wanted to help him. David let him pick whatever he needed. However,the man just took a bag of instant(速食的）noodles.David asked him to choose something else.The man then took the cheapest bottle of milk. Knowing that the man had two sons, David asked him, "What haven't your sons eaten for a long time? " The man said meat. So David picked out a steak for him. Later, David tried to buy him some vegetables and fruit, but the man refused."That's enough. Thank you, sir! I can work at your house to payback the money,"said the man sincerely(真诚地）.

Hearing this,David smiled and said,"You don't need to do this. I'm glad I can help you."

Accept help without being greedy(贪心的),and give help without expecting anything in return.The two made the night warm.
