Junk e-mail 

A new UK study shows that around the world, junk e-mail uses 33 billion kilowatt hours each year. That is enough energy to power 2. 4 million homes. 

E-mail users spend nearly 80 percent of their energy in deleting junk e-mail and looking for useful e-mails. 

Cycling to work

A few months ago, France starts to pay people to bike to work. About 20 companies join it. They pay their workers 0. 25 euros (2 yuan) per kilometer they bike to work. Several other European countries, such as Germany and the UK, have nearly the same project. They ask people to bike to stay healthy, save energy and reduce air pollution. 

Soccer schools

China is to build 20, 000 soccer schools around the country in three years. 

It is to fight obesity (肥胖) and make China's national soccer team better.

All students at these soccer schools will have one soccer class each day. They 

will also take part in competitions.
