A couple of years ago, I got off the su bway in Upper Manhattan I was 1 after a long and stressful day at work, dreaming about the warmth of my bed.
I stopped in a 7 11 on the way to my apartment to buy a bag of 2 A man about three times my size stood in front of me at the register(收银台) buying a pack of cigarettes(香烟) He 3 toward me and told me that I looked tired I smiled 4 and became noticeably more alert(戒备的), as a young woman does when a 5 man start s talking to her at night He turned toward the cashier(收银员) and said that he was going to pay for my snack, too I politely 6 and was already taking out my 7 , but this man wouldn't allow me to say no He handed the cashier a couple of extra(额外的) dollars to 8 my popcorn and told me that he 9 my night got better He walked out of the 10 and I never saw him again
The world could use a little more kindness It's so 11 to stay in your own routine(惯例) and everyday personal worries that sometimes we just don't remember to 12 those around us The man 13 paid for my popcorn has encouraged me to continue to 14 those who look like they are in need It feels great to be 15 , so it's a win win!
