A little boy invited his mother to his teacher-parent meeting. This would be the first time that his classmates and teacher 1 his mother. Although she was a beautiful woman, there was a large scar(疤痕) covering almost half of her 2 . The boy never 3 the reason for his mother's scar. He just didn't like it.

At the meeting, everyone felt 4 to see the mother, but the little boy was just embarrassed(尴尬) and stayed away from others. However, he heard a talk between his mother and his teacher.

The teacher asked carefully, "Is it okay to ask how you got the scar?

The mother 5 , "Sure. When my son was a baby, he was in a room catching fire. Everyone was too 6 to go in because the fire was out of control. Then I went in. As I was running towards(向着) his bed, I saw something heavy falling down and I stood over him trying to save him. It hit hard on my head. But 7 , a fireman came in and saved both of us." She pointed at the scar between her left eye and mouth. "Here left a big scar, but I never regretted(后悔) what I 8 ."
