Zhou Shen shows the world his musical talent
Zhou Shen's musical journey began ten years ago. At that time, he was just a fresh graduate from college. Standing on the stage of The Voice of China, he looked unimpressive. But once he opened his mouth, his beautiful voice impressed everyone. The talented singer didn't go very far in the show. Since then, however, he has kept working towards his music dream. He has sung every song with heart. He has always believed that one day he would sing on a very big stage.
That day finally came on April 18. On Chinese Language Day, Zhou performed his new song, "Ode to Peace (《和平颂》)", at the United Nations headquarters (总部) in New York. Singing the song at a place that calls for peace was very meaningful for the singer. "I hope more people can hear it and realize the importance of peace," he said.
Zhou was born and grew up in a mountain village in Hunan province. His humble roots made him especially proud to sing on the international stage. "As a very ordinary person who comes from an ordinary place, I stand here today, and so can you," said Zhou.
