A man was walking in the countryside. When he saw some elephants, he stopped. He wondered how the trainer(训练员) could hold these 1 animals only by a small rope(绳子). The elephants could 2 the rope anytime they wanted, but they did not.
He 3 the trainer why the animals didn't try to run away. The trainer said," When they were very 4 and smaller, we used the same rope to 5 them from running away. At that age, it can keep the elephants staying in the same place. When they grow 6 , they slowly believe that they can't break the rope, so they7 try to run away again."
The man was 8 . These animals could break the rope anytime they wanted,9 because they thought they couldn't , they just stayed quietly.
How many of us are like these elephants— thinking we can't do 10 just because we met failures(失败) once before?
Failure is a part of 11 . If we failed once, it doesn't 12 we can never be successful(成功的). We should never 13 trying when we meet failures in life. We should always tell14 : just like the elephants can break free if they 15 , we can also reach our goals one day.
