According a famous story, it was Dayu invented chopsticks. Dayu , together Yao and Shun, was the Emperor of ancient times. At that time, there was a flood(洪灾) in China. Yu was very worried his people and the flood. He had to hurry to the flood. And he tried his best (find) some ways to control the flood.
One day, he was (have) meals at home. Someone told him that the flood was coming.
He decided to hurry to the flood. He was hungry and picked up some meals on the table. He wanted to eat (quick) . But the food was hot to pick with hands. Then he used two branches(树枝) from a tree (pick) up the food. They were the (one) pair of chopsticks.
