The 54-year-old British comedy actor, Eddie Izzard, achieved the challenge—a sports charity fundraising. He took part in 27 marathons and ran 707 (mile) in all. He finished the last marathon in front of Union Buildings in South Africa where the president Nelson Mandela gave speech. He said it was (difficult) thing that he had ever had. When he finished the whole marathon, people shouted his name and clapped (鼓掌) for him. He was very tired, but he was proud of (he).
He was thankful to the people who donated (捐赠) money. In the past 27 days, he suffered many health problems. He had to rest for one day he didn't feel comfortable. As a result, he had to run two marathons on the last day.
This was not his (one) time to take part in the sports charity fundraising. In 2009, it took him 51 days (run) 43 marathons through Britain. At last, he succeeded in (raise) 1.8 million pounds.
While he was running, Eddie (know) about the history of South Africa and Nelson Mandela. He also visited many communities, families and social groups that offered him a lot of help during his challenge.
