One day when I was young, our school was going to take us to pick berries. I was going out of the house with my basket when my father called me back. He said1to me," Harry, my boy, I want to tell you one thing. When you find a good2, don't leave it to try to find a better one. I know the other students may3, picking one or two berries here and then one or two there. If you do like them, you will come back with an almost4basket. Remember, if you want to get more berries, stick to your bush!"
When we were picking berries, I found things really went just5my father had said- as soon as one of the boys found a good bush, he6to his friends excitedly and all the other boys would leave their places and run to7what he had found.
But8my father's words, I stuck to my bush. When I had done with one, I went to another and9that and then I took another. When night came, I returned with a basket full of10berries, more than all the others11together; and I was not half so12as they were.
Sadly not long after that, my father got ill and died. I had to make my own13in the world. But I14forgot what that day's berry picking taught me. When I had a good job and was getting on well, I didn't spend time15to find a better one. Sometimes I got invitations saying “Come with us, and we will find you16better to do." But I never changed my mind. I just17politely and stuck to my bush.
In fact, the18of sticking to my business led to my great success. Many young people asked me:"19can you make such great achievements?" I know I should thank my father20teaching me the important lesson:*Stick to your bush."
