If you are home alone, and somebody comes to the door, you will probably shout out "I got it" so that it seems like someone else is there with you and you are not alone at home, this way you can be safe. Then how can we stay safe in our daily lives? Here are some tips:

⒈ It's a good idea to give your apartment a safety check—before you even move in. Complete this safety check list. Can you see who's at the door without opening it? Are your doors made of metal? Have all your doors been rekeyed since you moved in?

⒉ Become BFFs (best friends forever) with your neighbors. If you're shy, then you'd probably prefer anything else to chatting with neighbors, But make an effort to be friendly, if only for safety's sake (面子). In one way or another, your neighbors may be your best wealth in times of trouble and they'll be more willing to lend a hand to a friend than they are to help out a stranger.

⒊ Always throw parties. Burglars (窃贼) are less likely to target busy homes. So yes, this can be your excuse to throw a party. Having people over can make your home seem like there are more people living in it. It'll also show would-be burglars that a lot of friends have got your back.

⒋ Be smart about spare keys. Burglars know exactly where to check for spare keys. So don't think you're being clever by hiding them in the mailbox, or under a carpet. Instead, you're better off leaving them to a friend or trusted neighbor.

A. Then keep taking steps.

B. I can't start such a huge goal.

C. And how can you try to reach your goals?

D. To change a habit, try changing where you spend your time.

E. Is it more important to practice singing than play video games?

F. Does shopping take you a lot of time?

You have lots of things you'd like to do. But sometimes it's hard to get to the finish line — just like your goal. How can you break your bad habits and develop good ones?

Here are a few opinions we often get from kids, followed by ideas that might help.

● I can't get away from screens.

If you usually spend time lying on the sofa and watching TV programs or a video when you're bored, go somewhere else instead. Take a book to your room or your violin to the backyard. Or ask if you can help cook in the kitchen.

Start with "showing up." Then take one small step or do one tiny task, followed by another and another. For example, how do I practice the piano? First, sit at it. Then play one note at a time.

Starting with a supersimple step often helps. Why? It's easy, quick, and gets you in action.

● I have no time.

Take a look at the choices you make about how you spend time. Do those choices show what's important to you? Can you spare 10 minutes a day to work on a goal? Let's suppose you want to be singer.Talk with a parent about why your goal counts. Discuss whether you can let go of something less important to free up time to achieve it.
